How walking in nature can drastically transform your brain and thinking pattern

In this complex life and congested cities, majority of us have completely cut off ourselves from nature due to our day to day busy schedule and laziness. Thus, it has been observed and shown by many studies that the people who live in cities are much more likely to suffer from various diseases, depression and other forms of anxiety as compared to people who live in natural or rural areas.

Therefore, people who live in cities must have observed a refreshing feeling when they go for outing in parks, forests, or for camping or a general outing at some hill stations. Apart from giving a refreshing experience, this outing experience of getting closer to nature can largely affect our mental health and physical well-being.
Does walking in nature affect the tendency of person to brood?
Brooding is a state of mind when one constantly gets worried and stressful about everyday things. This type of thinking tendency affects our physical well-being and is pernicious to our overall mental health, which turns into depression in most of the cases. This sort of cerebration is largely associated with excessive activity in the part of the brain which is known as subgenual prefrontal cortex.
According to a research and brain scans, it has been observed and measured that spending time in too much pollution, noise, heavy traffic increase the level of blood flow in our subgenual prefrontal which creates depression, anxiety and stress. Whereas, the people who spend atleast an hour in nature can feel drastic changes in their mind as it helps balance their blood flow in subgenual prefrontal cortex.
Try it out
Everyone must try out this simple exercise every day to gift yourself a stress free life even in these hectic schedules. Even if you cannot go for outing, spend atleast a little time outside each day – make sure, the time should be devoted to only yourself. Go for a peaceful walk in a nearby park, and find a nice place to relax. And keep giving yourself a break from your monotonous life in every few months to spend time in nature with family or loved once. Try it out and keep a track on your thoughts and mood, you’ll notice drastic change in your mood and your thinking, which could be the answers of all your problems which is there in your mind only, and not in the universe.
